I.       DO YOU KNOW JESUS?

 

1.         Matthew 16:13-16   The question and the answer.

 

2.         Matthew 16:17         The answer is by Divine Revelation.

 

II.      A Theological Point of View of JESUS BEING GOD.

 

1.         Genesis 1:1    “In the beginning God . . .”

 

2.         John 1:1,14   “In the beginning was the Word . . . the Word was God.”;

“And the Word was made flesh, . . .”; I Timothy 3:16 God in flesh.

 

3.         John 1:18       “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared [revealed] him.” or Jesus the son of God is GOD (Spirit) revealed in a body of flesh for the purpose of redemption.

 

4.         John 1:29-30    “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

 

5.         Isaiah 43:10-14

 

(a)       Israel’s mission is to witness of the One Lord.

 

(b)       There is only One God and no God beside me.

 

 

6.         Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:”

 

7.         Isaiah 44:6        The Lord is our Redeemer.

III.     A PROPHETIC REVELATION

 

1.         Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:21-23        Jesus is called IMMANUEL, God

with us.

 

2.         Isaiah 9:6    The Son born: Is the everlasting Father - The mighty God, The Prince of Peace.

 

3.         John 3:16    The only begotten Son is the Son born, that Son’s name is Jesus.

 

4.         Micah 5:1,2      The person who was to be born in Bethlehem of the Tribe of Judah of the nation of Israel was to be God - an eternal Being whose going forth has been from of old, from everlasting.

 

5.         Revelation 1:8; 2:8  As a man Jesus had a beginning, he was begotten, and was brought into being (a body); but as God He had no beginning or ending.

 

6.         John 8:54-58:   Jesus says, “Before Abraham was, I am.”

 

7.         Colossians 1:15-17   Jesus is the image of the Invisible God.

 

8.         I Timothy 3:16         God was manifest in the flesh as Jesus.

 

9.         I John 5:20       Jesus is the one true GOD.

 

Therefore, as we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ, our greatest gift we received is Jesus, the greatest gift we can give to anyone is the revelatory knowledge of who Jesus is.  Matthew 16:16. (“Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”).

 

“Joy to the world, the Lord has come,

Let earth receive her King!”
